Model of parameterized PMU estimation error

To understand the reliability of PMUs, it is important to quantify the effect of errors on applications that use synchrophasor data. In this paper, a model of PMU estimation error, based on the performance of the Annex C Reference Signal Processing Model of IEEE Std. C37.118.1-2011 amended by C37.118.1a-2014, is built to generate the impaired data for data impairment evaluation. Based on standard tests under different PMU operation states and input disturbances, the generic model is parameterized to generate the impaired PMU estimation error under different real conditions.
