Effects of Redrying Temperature on Chemical Components in and Smoking Quality of Flue-cured Tobacco

2006
In order to investigate the effects of redrying temperature on the quality of threshed tobacco leaf, three representative strip samples from different stalk positions,C4L,B2F,X2L,were redried at different temperatures, and their physical characteristics, routine chemical components, key volatile(aroma) constituents and smoking quality were tested before and after redrying. The results showed that: the redrying temperature in the range of 80℃ to 90℃ was more favorable for improving tobacco physical characteristics, retaining key aroma components in tobacco, such as benzalcohol,solanone,β-damascenone,β-damascone, dihydroactinidiolide, megastigmatrienone and neophytadiene, and keeping the(flavor) concentration of cigarette.
