Effect of Gamma Irradiation on the Surface Morphology of SOS Films

The effect of gamma irradiation on the surface morphology and optical properties of epitaxial SOS films is revealed by atomic-force microscopy and laser ellipsometry. It is concluded that this phenomenon is due to the action of radiation-induced elastic waves in the substrate on structural imperfections in the film.
