AQIDAH OF MUSLIM SUFISME ACCORDING TO THE AL-QURAN: AN ANALYSIS

Aqidah is an important element for followers of Islam as a deviation in one’s aqidah would leave one to fall into the depth of kufur. Among the various ilm related to aqidah today, Muslim Sufisme is of the many branches of knowledge which encourages the humankind to be closer to Allah SWT. The majority of Muslim Sufisme puts focus on the heart’s purity of an individual in being closer to Allah SWT. The historical origin of this ilm remains generally unknown, however the Muslim Sufisme has began to appear after the passing of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. As such, the aim of the current study is to observe whether the aqidah of Muslim Sufisme is in accordance with the al-Quran. The study adopts a qualitative method approach focusing on document analysis and related matters. The findings of the discussion have found that the aqidah brought by the Muslim Sufisme are in paralled with the teachings of the Al-Quran as seen from the point of view of Islam.
