Chapter problematises notion of good governance in development contexts, explores different mental models of governance and their application in rural community settings in Thailand and Vanuatu, building upon the PhD research of Nimbtik and Tavekan and field work of Battersby. Chapter critiques received ideas of appropriateness of western concepts of good governance, corruption, and community using global framework of analysis.
