High-power, Intense-current Density Pseudospark Electron Beam Driven by a Modified Pulsed Line Accelerator

1996
A high power, intense current density electon beam was generated in the Pseudospark chamber filled with 15pa N_2 driven by a modified pulse line accelerator. The beam was ejected with 1mm diameter, 2kA beam current, and 400ns pulse length at 200kV. At 5cm from the anode it penetrated a 0. 3mm hole on a 0. 05mm thickness copper foil; at 15cm its high energy beam component penetrated a 0. 6mm hole on an acid-sensitive film.
