The Spearman correlation analysis indicated that patient age was negatively correlated with social support (r=-0.242, P<0.05) . While the education level, average monthly income and general life satisfaction were positively correlated with social support (r=0.237, 0.170, 0.267; P<0.05) . Conclusions Thus, nurses should emphasize on elder patients and patients with lower income due to their lower score of social support. In addition, the resources of social support for patients in China are relatively unitary.
