1996
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording paper excellent in writing performance and absorbing ink quickly without spreading a dot. SOLUTION: In an ink jet recording paper where a coating layer is provided on a base paper, the coating layer contains 10-60 pts.wt. of synthetic amorphous silica produced through gelation, and 40-90 pts.wt. of synthetic amorphous silica produced through precipitation. The synthetic amorphous silica produced through qelation has mean grain size of 2.0-10.0μm while the synthetic amorphous silica produced through precipitation has mean grain size of 3.0-8.0μm. Preferably, the difference of mean grain size is at least 1.0μm.
