Preparation, Characterization and Enhanced photocatalytic degradation of Organic pollutants using Layered Double Hydroxides

2018
Abstract Over the past decades, Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) have been investigated as host materials for a range of anion exchange intercalation reactions. In this role they have been used extensively as ion-exchange materials, elctrocatalysts and Photocatalyst. The Zn-Bi Layered double hydroxides were prepared by simple co-precipitation method. The prepared Zn-Bi material was characterized using many techniques such as, Powder X-ray diffraction, Raman was used to determine the phase purity and crystal structure of the prepared material. Functional groups were identified from FTIR spectroscopy and the surface morphology of the prepared samples was analyzed using FESEM. The prepared Zn-Bi LDH was effectively degrades the organic pollutants.
