Temperature-Control Method for Jackert Cooling Water of Main Marine Diesel Engine

Based on the heat transfer theory, this paper analyzes the heat transfer mechanism of the jacket cooling water system of the main marine diesel engine and then a dynamic mathematic model is developed. Inertia of the main engine jacket cooling water system is high and it is difficult to control dynamic deviation of the cooling water temperature. In the current investigation, the output power parameter of the main marine diesel engine is used into temperature control system of jacket cooling water as a feed forward signal. The results of computer simulation show that this control method provides better control performance than current PID control.
