A clinical study of PSP on peripheral blood counts during chemotherapy

1992
The effect of polysaccharide peptides from Coriolous versicolor (PSP) on peripheral blood counts was evaluated on eleven Chinese breast cancer patients. There was no significant drop in their peripheral white blood counts and platelet counts after three cycles of chemotherapy. Half of the studied patients noticed an increase in appetite. The authors concluded that PSP may be a useful adjunctive treatment during chemotherapy.
