Injectarea corzilor vocale în tratamentul insuficienţei glotice

Vocal cord injection is more than 100 years old, but it only became notorious in the past 20 years thanks to new materials and visualization technologies, as well as to new injection techniques. This paper overviews the available materials and various vocal cord injection techniques used for treating glottic insufficiency. Depending on the injected material, the vocal cord can be medialized in a span of weeks or years. Glottic insufficiency has a big impact on patients’ life quality by preventing easy oral speaking. With a proper material and patient selection, vocal cord injection has nowadays a major role in treating many patients suffering from glottic insufficiency-induced dysphonia.
