Dispersion efficiency of powders of the Al2O3-(ZrO2+Y2O3) system obtained by the plasma-chemical method

1995
The method of electron microscopy is used to study the morphology and fraction composition of powders of the Al2O3-(ZrO2+Y2O3) system subjected to mechanical, electric pulse, and “explosion” dispersion caused by the dosed addition of ammonium nitrate into the reaction zone during the oxide synthesis. The explosion method is given preference. The use of powders dispersed by the explosion method markedly improves the properties of sintered ceramics.
