An Analysis on the Application of Anti-infection Medicines in Out-patients with Respiratory Diseases

Objective:To understand the application situation of anti-infection drugs in out-patients with respiratory diseases (OPR) and to provide scientific basis for proper application and administration of this kind of medicines. Methods: Thirty prescriptions for OPR per month in 2008 were randomly chosen. The sputum culture results,drug sensitivity test results,and variety,frequency ,and costs of medicines used of the related OPR were analyzed. Results: The positive rate of sputum culture was 59.44%,anti-infection drug application rate 83.61,combined drug application rate 35.22%,and the total cost 48,719.52 yuan. The top 10 drugs with highest application frequency were broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents,and some of them had relatively high drug use index (DUI). Conclusion: Inadequate use of antibiotics occurred in respiratory disease clinic,and the drug-resistance of bacteria is serious.
