PERAN DINAS KEARSIPAN DAN PERPUSTAKAAN KOTA JAMBI DALAM PENGEMBANGAN PERPUSTAKAAN KELURAHAN SUNGAI PUTRI JAMBI

This study discusses the role of the Jambi City Archives and Library Service in the Development of the Sungai Putri Jambi Village Library. The purpose of the study was to determine the role played by the Jambi City Archives and Library Service in developing the Sungai Putri Jambi urban library and to find out what obstacles were faced in developing the Sungai Putri Jambi village library and to know the efforts made in overcoming obstacles in developing the Sungai Putri urban library Jambi. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the role of the Jambi City Archives and Library Office in developing the Sungai Putri Jambi village library was library development, providing collections, holding BIMTEK, and holding village library level competitions. Obstacles faced by the Jambi City Archives and Library Office in developing the Sungai Putri Jambi urban library are the limited management of the village library, the development of information technology and the educational background of the village library manager who is not a library science graduate. The efforts made by the Jambi City Archives and Library Office in dealing with the obstacles that occur are conducting socialization, monitoring, library promotion and cooperating.
