Scope: Screen industry views

Ten years ago, when the Australia Israel Cultural Exchange (AICE) Israeli Film Festival began, its goal was to depoliticise Australian perceptions of Israel - to explore the every-day living that goes on beyond media head-lines. As the event has expanded, however, it has become more reflective of all aspects of the Israeli film scene. Last year's program included nine works that directly confront the Arab-Israeli conflict, an increased representation of younger voices and even a selection of genre films.
