Transbronchial Lung Biopsy in Sarcoidosis

In Sweden-like most of the Scandinavian countries — sarcoidosis is an important medical problem. The prevalence is high, usually more than 50 cases per 100.000 of the adult population. In the Northern parts of Sweden more than 100 sarcoid patients per 100.000 of people have been found on mass chest radiography. An increased occurrence of familial sarcoidosis has been reported (Fig. 1).
