Laser induced plasma channels and related X-γ ray sources
2015
Abstract During the propagation in the plasma, a super-intense and ultra-short laser pulse deeply changes its parameters due the onset of non-linear effects. These extreme conditions are suitable for the electron acceleration in high field gradient, opening the way for the realization of compact secondary sources of X- γ rays. In particular the Betatron Radiation in the so called bubble regime and the all-optical Thomson Backscattering are presented as good candidate in this sense.
