Open microgrooves heat sink (OMHS) represents one of the best cooling solutions for high-power electronic devices. As shown in Fig. 1, it features a bunch of open capillary microgrooves on the surface. Liquid is sucked into the groove and forms an extended meniscus in the cross section, which is typically divided into three regions: the intrinsic meniscus region, the evaporating thin film region, and the adsorbed layer region.
