Monoland: ein neuartiger 2-teiliger Ölabstreifring

An innovative new concept for a 2-piece oil control ring was developed based on using a sintered ring blank. The geometry of the ring is chosen such as to obtain an extremely good conformability. This allows to seal very efficiently also in case of higher liner deformation. The ring exhibits one sealing face contacting the liner. Now it is either possible to reduce the tangential load significantly, compared to conventional designs, and reduce friction losses without sacrificing oil consumption or to maintain the tangential load but reduce oil consumption.
