Dual-Energy Spectral CT: Various Clinical Vascular Applications

The value of CT for vascular applications is enhanced by an understanding of the limitations of standard single-energy CT angiography and knowledge of various techniques of single-source dual-energy CT with fast switching of tube voltage, including acquisition of monochromatic and material decomposition images and use of the spectral Hounsfield unit curve and histograms of effective atomic numbers, and their clinical applications to overcome these limitations.
