Evaluación de la satisfacción laboral en un grupo de enfermeras de cuatro ciudades del Ecuador en el mes de enero de 2020

Objective: To assess the level of job satisfaction of nursing professionals working in the first and second level of care and the associated factors in four cities in Ecuador in January of the year 2020.Methodology: Cross-sectional analytical quantitative study which applied the modified Red Font questionnaire to measure the degree of job satisfaction. Cronbach's alpha was applied for the internal consistency analysis of the modified questionnaire, and a factor analysis was performed. The relationship between the sociodemographic variables the degree of job satisfaction was studied using the chi-square technique. The statistical package SPSS version 22 was used for data processing.Results: The majority of participants were female (n = 166, 86.5%), non-single marital status was majority (n = 110; 57.3%), very few worked in one place (n = 5 ; 2.6%), only one fifth of the participants held a leadership position (n = 35; 18.2%), the majority responded to work in establishments of second level of care (n = 173; 90.1% ). No association was identified between the sociodemographic variables described and the degree of job satisfaction. The analysis of global job satisfaction identified a majority of professionals satisfied with their work, however, the analysis of factors made it possible to identify that there are four components in which professionals scored unsatisfactorily.Conclusions: The population studied is satisfied in general terms. At the same time, three extrinsic factors are indicated, and an intrinsic factor related to job dissatisfaction that is present very early in the study population.
