DC high-voltage electric locomotives: new trends in development of electric power supply systems and electrical equipment

Structures of converters for electric locomotives with DC high voltage (24kV) of catenaries and multimodule active rectifier scheme for high-voltage traction substations are considered. Multimodule active rectifier is used to provide electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) concern with the reduction of interference in feeding networks and catenaries.
