Concrete bridge deterioration: Research into the problem by the TRRL

Abstract Recent research on the problems caused by de-icing salt penetration into concrete bridges is reviewed. The author discusses comparative studies of bridges of different ages, the detection of defects, crack repair, concrete repair materials, bridge deck waterproofing, protective coatings and cathodic protection.
