The finite-element analysis for structural stability of shallow embedded long-span multi-arch tunnels

The co-authors of this paper made a systematic study on the the stress change condition during construction and the surrounding rock stability during excavation stages,using numerical simulation on the structural mechanics analysis on Yehuling No.2 shallow-embedded long-span mutil-arch tunnel.The research shows that with good stress state the 3-heading excavation design plan has relatively small impact on the surrounding rock during construction and can avoid collapse and roof fall incidents.Therefore the co-authors conclude that this method has certain reference value for tunnel construction and design.
