A process for producing thin sections of tissue samples microscopable

2009
A process for preparing microscopable thin sections of tissue samples (60), comprising the steps of: Holding of a liquid coolant (70) in a freezing microtome (10) Inserting the tissue samples (60) in the liquid coolant (70) to freeze the tissue samples (60), and Cutting the frozen tissue samples (60) by means of a freezing microtome in the (10) contained cutting device (26), characterized, in that the tissue samples (60) before being introduced into the liquid refrigerant (70) individually in each case in a tube-shaped sleeve (62) are packaged, and each, in the respective sleeve (62) attached packaged tissue sample (60) before being introduced into the liquid refrigerant (70) to a receiving device (64) and together with the receiving device (64) is introduced into the liquid refrigerant (70) and after freezing of the liquid coolant (70) is withdrawn, the protective sheath (62) with the information contained in their tissue sample (60) in the receiving device (64) is clamped in such a way that their first open ends (by respectively paired clamp arms 66, 68 ) which are formed on the recording apparatus, compressed and are thus closed.
