Sunki astma ir COVID-19

2021
Severe asthma is a disease that requires specialized help. In the face of a pandemic, it is feared that people with severe asthma will be more likely to develop COVID–19 or complicate its course. Studies have shown that the incidence of morbidity or complications does not differ from the general population in cases where good asthma control is ensured, and there is no continuous use of oral glucocorticoids. There have also been many doubts about the prescribing of biologics during a pandemic, but current experience and research suggests that biologic therapy should be continued even in the event of COVID–19, although initiation is not recommended. A separate issue that has caused a lot of debate is vaccination. Still, to this day, it’s one of the most effective ways to manage a pandemic and get back to the daily life that existed before the pandemic.
