: A case of Pure Word Deafness (PWD) with bilateral perisylvian softenings is described. The C.A.T. findings fit the classical anatomical counterpart of PWD: a nearly complete acoustic disconnection of the Wernicke area. The associated severe apraxic disorders are discussed.
