Hepatites Virais A, B e C em crianças e adolescentes

As hepatites virais sao um grave problema de saude publica no Brasil e no mundo. Segundo estimativas, bilhoes de pessoas ja tiveram contado com os virus das hepatites e milhoes sao portadores cronicos. O termo hepatite viral geralmente se refere aos virus hepatotropicos, sendo que atualmente os mais conhecidos ? A, B, C, D, E ? sao os responsaveis por mais de 90% dos casos de hepatite aguda. As hepatites virais sao causas de doenca hepatica na populacao pediatrica. Os virus da hepatite causamampla variedade de apresentacoes clinicas, que vao desde um estado de portador assintomatico, hepatite aguda, fulminante ou cronica ate cirrose hepatica e carcinoma hepatocelular. As equipes de atencao basica tem papel relevante no diagnostico e no acompanhamento das pessoas portadoras, sintomaticas ou nao, de hepatites. Nesta revisao, serao enfatizadas as hepatites pelos virus A, B e C, mais frequentes em nossomeio e que implicam mais morbimortalidade.(AU) Viral hepatitis are a serious public health problem in Brazil and the world. According to estimates, billions of people have already had contact with the hepatitis virus and millions are chronic carriers. The term viral hepatitis usually refers to hepatotropic viruses, which the currently best known - A, B, C, D, and E - are responsible for over 90% of cases of acute hepatitis. Viral hepatitis cause liver disease in the pediatric population and a wide variety of clinical presentations, ranging from an asymptomatic carrier state, acute hepatitis, fulminant or chronic to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma in other populations. Basic attention teams have a relevant role in the diagnosis and follow-up of hepatitis affected patients, symptomatic or not. In this review, hepatitis caused by viruses A, B, and C will be emphasized, which are frequent in our environment and involve high morbidity and mortality.(AU)
