Changes in Education Faculties from the Viewpoints of Academic Staff: Student Profile, Base Score Application and Student Selection

The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of academic staff in Education Faculties about the changes in student profile of education faculties in recent years, base score application and student selection for education faculties. This research was conducted with 30 academicians. The research data were obtained through a semi-structured interview form. In the analysis of the data, descriptive analysis technique was used. As a result of the research, academicians stated that education  faculty students have a lower quality of qualification especially in recent years; they think that the base score application for the education faculties  is beneficial in the coming period; they stated that LYS is not sufficient in selecting students for the education faculty, besides that the personality traits of the students, their affective and physical traits should also be measured.
