We now know that family violence is the most common cause of homelessness in Australia. Sadly, as Angelina's story illustrates, women who are caught in violent relationships are often deterred from leaving due to the lack of financial certainty that can follow, and the fear that they and their children may not be able to sustain stable housing and will become homeless.
