Glass-Based Optics For the Connected World

We are witnessing an incredible era of exponential growth in applications that require advances in materials technology: from 3D printing, to AR/VR to autonomous cars to 5G to machine learning and artificial intelligence, for example. Revolutionary new products are steadily coming into the marketplace and many more are needed and expected. Novel materials play a key role in many of these new products: new displays, new personal mobile devices, new sensors in cars, and new information technology products for both storage and data processing. This talk will focus on the use of glass materials to produce key optical components in display, interconnect and consumer products.
