Optimal measurement locations based on uncertainty intervals for state identification in distribution grids
2017
Due to structural characteristics of medium and low voltage grids a comprehensive roll-out of measurement devices for distribution grid state identification may not be economical reasonable. Therefore robust and efficient algorithms are required to determine a finite set of locations where measurement devices should be installed ideally. The resulting lack of information can be circumvented by using pseudo-measurements in order to achieve full observability. Modeling the uncertainty of pseudo-measurements as stochastic quantities is a challenging task for several reasons. However, absolute error boundaries may be easier to derive for these artificial measurements. This paper proposes a placement algorithm for measurement devices based on uncertainty intervals resulting from pseudo-measurements.
