Changes of Serum and Urine Parameters in Immobilized Children and Adolescents

Long term immobilization increases the risk of urolithiasis, especially in children. Several factors may be important in the pathogenesis of stone formation. These are changes in urinary composition due to increased metabolism in the growing bone, urinary infections and possible urodynamic disturbances.
