Specific Pronunciation Errors Performed by the Hospitality Services in Canggu Beach Bali

This study focuses on analyzing the pronunciation error of English consonants sound as well as the factor of the pronunciation error performed by the hospitality services in Canggu Beach Bali. There are twenty four consonants sound which do exist in English, they are: /p/; /ʃ/; /b;/ʒ/; /t/; /h/; /d/; /ʧ/; /k/; /ʤ/; /g/; /m/; /f/; /n/; /v/; /ŋ/; /θ/; /l/; /ð/; /r/; /s/; /j/; /z/; /w/. The writers has scoped the discussion in this chapter by analyzed only eight consonants from the twenty four consonants which do existed; they are: /ʃ/; /tʃ/; /dʒ/; /f/; /v/; /θ/; /ð/; /z/. The main theory used for this thesis was proposed by Jones (1956), which deals with phonology and pronunciation as well as the theory of interference proposed by Richard (1974). The data were taken from the conversation that was done by the hospitality services in Canggu Beach Bali with foreign customers. This study used a qualitative method to conduct a clear and well-organized description of problems identified. At the end of the discussion, a percentage table shown as a tabulation of which consonant sound is pronouncing wrong mostly by the respondents.
