AT LEAST THREE DIFFERENT STANDARD TESTS ARE NECESSARY FOR QUALITY CONTROL OF LIGHT-WEIGHT AGGREGATES FOR CONCRETES. THE STRENGTH AND BOND CHARACTERISTICS OF THESE AGGREGATES ARE ESSENTIAL FOR OVERALL DEFORMATIONAL BEHAVIOR OF THESE CONCRETES, THEREFORE CORRESPONDING TEST PROCEDURES HAVE TO BE DEVELOPED. COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF HEAPED AGGREGATE MATERIAL MIGHT BE A USABLE STANDARD VALUE RELATED TO GRAIN STRENGTH. POSSIBLE BOND STRENGTH COULD POSSIBLY BE PREDICTED DUE TO KNOWLEDGE OF SURFACE POROSITY DATA OF LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATES. THESE DATA WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM ADSORPTION MEASUREMENTS. /AUTHOR/
