The invention discloses a measuring method for a fundamental wave component of resistive current of a zinc oxide arrester. The measuring method comprises the following steps of: measuring total current and bus voltage of the zinc oxide arrester; performing Fourier transform to obtain a fundamental wave component i1 of the total current, a fundamental wave component u1 of the bus voltage and a phase angle of the fundamental wave component i1 of the total current and the fundamental wave component u1 of the bus voltage; and projecting the fundamental wave component i1 of the total current on the fundamental wave component u1 of the bus voltage to obtain the fundamental wave component ir1 of the resistive current. According to the measuring method, the fundamental wave component of the resistive current of the zinc oxide arrester is easily and quickly measured; and the measuring method has great practical significance to normal operation for maintaining the zinc oxide arrester.
