This paper attempts to determine whether safety regulations, used to deter foreign truck entry into the US has been effective in keeping trucks out of the United States by empirically estimating the number of trucking establishments located along the United States international borders. The analysis shows that safety regulations used to deter Mexican trucks from entering the US are effective.
