Abandoned grain silos have become a common fixture in rural Victoria's landscape but now they have become key sites for a new economy, as witnessed in the emergence of Silo Art trails. Historically, grain silos had provided a place for the local community to gather throughout the harvest period, but land consolidation and technology advancements in equipment and self-storage have led to a decrease in silo use, along with fewer employment opportunities within the agricultural industry.
