Gas fi elds being developed belong to a type of artifi cial multi-task developing complicated systems of single life cycle with uncertainties. Uncertainty of the fi rst kind consists in the fatal incompleteness of information about a stratum and the processes occurring there, and also about parameters of external (in regard to the system) environment. Uncertainty of the second king is called goal uncertainty, which consists in existence of several goals, and to reach them a special complicated system is to be created. Many of these goals are discrepant (antagonistic) in a way, that the higher the extent of attainment of one goal, the lower the extent of attainment of the other. So, reliable assessment of industrial gas-recovery factors for every particular fi eld could be obtained only as a result of complex control action in respect of hydrocarbons extraction process. The article shows the impossibility to develop a universal formal procedure, which would guarantee trustworthy estimation of industrial gas-recovery factors. According to theses of the system analysis discipline, the compromise between the extents of goals attainment could be reached only by means of expert judgements using mathematical instruments of data processing. At developing any gross gas fi eld, forecasting of current and fi nal gas-recovery factors will always be a result of expert concordance for extents of attainment of many goals. System approach to development of a gas fi eld allows to ground the values of current and fi nal gas-recovery factors in these or that geological, technological and economic conditions.
