Research on load profiling in distribution system operation

Load data is needed for operation, control and planning studies in power distribution system. The process of data collection is known as load research. Load profiling is the application of load data research, which is the main point of this paper. The general aim of load profiling is to produce load profile or pattern, which could be employed by power utilities to provide information for use in forcasting, financial planning, tariff design, transmission and distribution planning.
