Study on the correlation between the ratio of random urine protein to serum cystatin C and 24-hour urine quantitative protein

Objective To study the correlation between the ratio of random urine protein/serum cystatin C and 24-hour urine quantitative protein.Methods The correlation was analyzed between the ratios of random urine protein to serum cystatin C,creatinine,osmolarlity and 24-hour urine quantitative protein from 74 patients.Results The significant correlation was found between the 24-hour urine protein and the ratio of random urine protein/serum cystatin C,so were the ratios with creatinine and osmolarlity.Their correlation coefficients were 0.786(P0.01),0.698(P0.05),0.723(P0.01) respectively.Conclusion It is suggested that the ratio of random urine protein/serum cystatin C can replace the detection of 24-hour urine quantitative protein.
