Evaluation of capsicum genotypes for oleoresin recovery with respect to season and harvest maturity

2000
Influence of three stages of harvest maturity in three seasons on the fruit and oleoresin yield was studied in nine different chilli genotypes. Pooled analysis showed significant differences among genotypes for all the characters. Number and yield of fruits per plant were influenced by stages of harvest maturity. During summer and winter seasons, the cultivars were on par in oleoresin yield, when harvest maturity was fixed at turning, full ripe or withering stage. IN rainy season, oleoresin recovery was high in fruits at withering stage.
