Herland is an allegory of feminist utopia written by C.P.Gilman in the later time of her career.The author tries to overthrow the patriarchal culture,showing the awakening of feminist awareness,the disadvantages of capitalism,the unrest and contradiction of the society.From the perspective of binary oppositions,this paper tries to reveal the theme of the novel and express the ideal of the author from the differences in feminine awareness,men-and-women relationship and social construction.
