Density of Perfluorooctane on the Line of Liquid–Vapor Equilibrium

The density of liquid and gaseous perfluorooctane C8F18 is measured via gamma-ray transmission on the line of saturation in the 293–496 K range of temperatures. Coordinates are determined for the critical point (critical temperature TC = 496.97 ± 0.05 K; critical density ρC = 596.6 ± 3.5 kg/m3) and the critical exponent of coexistence curve β = 0.35 ± 0.015. The obtained data are compared to the results of other authors.
