Mass spectra of organosilicon peroxides

1986
1. A method has been developed for mass-spectrometric examination of organosilicon peroxides, avoiding their easy decomposition and hydrolysis and enabling the obtention of their mass spectra for the first time. 2. The peak of the Me3C+ ion has the highest intensity in the mass spectra of silyltert-butyl peroxides, while in the case of disilyl peroxide, it is the peak of the [Me2SiOSiMe2H]+ ion with a probable structure of a siloxane. The mass spectra obtained can be used for the analytical detection of peroxides and control of their purity.
