Implementation of a Full Disk Encryption Scheme Based on Double Sequence

2011
This paper presents a new scheme for enhancing the security of full disk encryption relying on the tweakable block cipher mode in order to improve the performance of its practical implementation. The aims of the proposed scheme are to defend against the watermarking attack in time sequence using the double-sequence-based tweak vector through sequential change detection on the disk read-and-write request and to construct the multi-user environment suitable for a shared key. This design of the scheme is based on re-keying principle and can avoid storing keys, which makes our scheme compatible with the security management system of the existing device. Analyses show that the scheme is provably secure and can prevent inner and outer attackers from attacking. To the best of our knowledge, the scheme offers the first neat solution to the watermarking attack in the same sector.
