Consistent Diffuse Derivative Approximation in Particle Methods for Weak and Strong Formulations (2) : Numerical Applications

2005
Derivation and various mathematical features of consistent diffuse derivative approximation (CDDA) implemented in weak and strong form meshfree methods have been presented in Part 1. In this paper, numerical examples are examined to verify the accuracy and efficiency of CDDA combined with weak and strong formulations. For the verification of the methods, their performance is compared with those of EFG method and Petrov-Galerkin diffuse derivative method. It is shown that CDDA has sufficient accuracy for being implemented in the numerical schemes and good efficiency in derivative computation of meshfree approximation. Specially, when it is combined with the strong formulation, it shows the best performance as meshfree method.
