A new method of evaluation of the remaining life of pipe-type structural elements from the results of tests of special specimens

1 A method of determination of the remaining life of pipe-type structural elements based on the results of tests of special specimens has been developed. The method was experimentally confirmed in determination of the remaining life of piping of 12Kh1MF steel after 68,000 h of service. 2 A comparison of the test results obtained with the use of the existing and developed methods showed that the surface layers of the pipe damaged in production and service reduce its life by 10\2-20%, which must be taken into consideration in designating the further service lives of piping.
