Tungsten high-speed steel material for drill bits and preparation method thereof

2014
The invention relates to a tungsten high-speed steel material for drill bits. The tungsten high-speed steel material comprises the following chemical element constituents by mass percent: 1.2 to 1.3 percent of carbon, 8.8 to 9.3 percent of chromium, 11.2 to 11.4 percent of tungsten, 1.1 to 1.3 percent of vanadium, 3.0 to 3.2 percent of manganese, 2.4 to 2.6 percent of titanium, 0.03 to 0.05 percent of niobium, 0.09 to 0.12 percent of Bi, 0.01 to 0.02 percent of Yb, 0.03 to 0.04 percent of Lu, and the balance of iron and other inevitable impurities. On the basis of tungsten high-speed steel, the chromium, the manganese, the Bi, the Yb and the Lu are added to increase wear resistance and corrosion resistance; through adding the vanadium, the titanium and the niobium, crystal grains are refined, brittleness is reduced, and intensity and toughness are increased; the alloy steel which has better hardness and toughness is suitable for manufacturing long drill bits, and the tungsten high-speed steel is not easy to break. The refining agents of the tungsten high-speed steel are used for casting production, air hole degrees in casts can be reduced by 1 to 2 degrees, oxide inclusions are at about 2-level, and the rate of finished products is obviously increased.
